Using MAPLE
Finding MAPLE
- MAPLE is available for use in most computer labs on campus, including:
-
- Academic Computing Services labs
(locations and hours),
- the library
(hours), and
- labs in various residence halls
(e.g. Belk, East, and the LLC).
- The lab monitors should be able to help you locate and start MAPLE. Beyond that,
you'll need to seek expert help.
A few MAPLE tips
- The following tips will help in most versions of MAPLE, assuming you are in
worksheet mode.
- End each command with a semicolon;
- Depending on the version of MAPLE, you may need to press return or enter.
- Use * to denote each and every multiplication. More recent versions of MAPLE
are not so picky about this, but it helps prevent many entry errors.
- Make sure that your command has the same number of left and right parentheses.
- You can learn more about Maple syntax by looking at Holly Hirst's
Maple Pages. (Thanks, Holly!)
- You can get quick start training, manuals, and reference cards at the
Maplesoft website.
- Professors Felkel and Marland have made some
movies demonstrating
