Assessment

The Computer Science Department has adopted a mission statement that is consistent with the mission of the College of Arts and Sciences and with the mission of the University

One part of that mission is to provide a high-quality undergraduate computer science major. To describe what that means to us and to help us monitor how well we are achieving that mission, the Department has identified a set of objectives and expected outcomes.

An Assessment Committee of the Department Faculty is charged with collecting data and reporting to the Department at least annually. The Assessment Committee is the hub of assessment activities in the Department. We expect that the committee will identify issues for the faculty to discuss and address and will propose to the faculty modifications of the program for consideration.
